tEAm news #72 | 3.2.22
“Among the highest callings we have as educators in preparing leaders of tomorrow is to help students under our care learn how to better protect and preserve this planet for all future generations. We expect no less from our chosen political leaders, as well.”
B U I L D EMPATHY | I N S P I R E ACTION
As we gain a glimmer of vision to see beyond the pandemic we know that we’re still the same organisation wishing for the same thing.
Perhaps even more now since we have been so separated, distanced and cautious of one another to build a future with compassionate, caring people in it.
Thanks for hanging on in there with us (means a lot!) and watch this space for more opportunities to be involved with projects, simulations, campaigns and more!
THANK YOU!

Other Updates
IT Support - previous participant of TPT & DJ, Mark Dodd has offered to help with support with IT and been helping Ben understand some of the IT needs that EA will need over the next season.
DJ update - a script is being adapted for a lighter and more nimble version (the hope is whether we can stage in 2 tents with 4-6 people). Richard is also wondering whether we could have an opportunity to have a dry run at St Johns Church (beginning of April) and is making a tentative enquiry for use of space.
The High Life - slow and steady progress! Since COP, another 330 students (from 6 downloads) have had opportunity to use it, says Alison D. As the threat of COVID retreats there are exciting possibilities for rewriting the simulation as a version without the limitations that the pandemic imposed (with some notable interest in such a version from Primary schools & church groups). Our THL fund (from the grants) still has some money to help with the video reshoots (post COP26).
Sevenoaks school expressed interest in running it again at an earlier position in the curriculum. It remains to be seen, Alison shares “whether they are prepared to run it themselves, with minimal input from EA staff”
Helping our friends at PI - Ben is lending a hand with PI with their simulation later in Feb. PI have been really supportive of EA during the pandemic and it’s nice to help them out too. Vanya was also able to share with the Director her involvement in a simulation in Taiwan and with her project at All Nations.

Allison H shared this article on UK pupils being failed by schools’ re teaching of the climate crisis (it features Teach the Future, who have promoted The High Life). Which Alison D shared this news about a UK Parliamentary Bill on Climate Education.
