tEAm news #73 | 10.2.22
What do you see? It is all about your perspective
how this world is like.
“What does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.”
A bit of background: More than romance…
When conceiving the Valentine’s campaign we sought to think beyond the romance idea of love that is so popular and position the campaign as also acts of 'mercy and justice.
We’ve loved inviting people to use this as an act of compassion, justice and empathy and we have some very cool ideas about more campaigns, like these, over the coming year.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here’s the blog post link.
Other Updates
Marketing THL. Paul & Heather met with a local marketing agency (ColleyRaine & Associates) about more schools using THL. Alison D also had the ingenious idea (see beneath) to use the valentine’s campaign to send a heart to your MP with a message for the planet. Brilliant idea to turn it into an act of advocacy. Please help spread the word!
Stock take: Vanya has been counting up the products and Fuzzy will be in next week to help with an annual stocktake. Fuzzy has been bringing the accounts up to date.
DJ update - Chris has re-scripted DJ for the newer, lighter version. It’s so great to have Chris’ input again! We cannot emphasise enough how thankful we are to him.
Next campaign - We’re planning our next next campaign to celebrate the women in each of lives for Women’s History Month and focused particularly on International Women’s Day (8th March) & Mothering Sunday (March 27th). Cam, Ben and Krishna & Barbra will be preparing for this. Other campaigns for this year will be for Refugee Week, Peace Day, Climate Justice Week.
OTHER NEWS
Paul Williams shared a very helpful piece on BBC Thought for the Day on practising empathy when bombarded by news of crises (programme available by 26th Feb).
ADVOCACY USING THE VALENTINE’S CAMPAIGN?
Allison D shared that the Climate Coalition’s Show the Love campaign (For our world) and she suggests to promote buying a Kibera Heart and sending it to your MP. What a great idea!
She says: ‘We don't have any green hearts but white one with a message written on it would be good or, it you are artistic enough, a blue heart on which you draw the land in green.’
A suggested message could read:
Dear <Insert MP’s name>,
I am sending you a heart (which provides 3 hot meals in a vulnerable part of the world) this Valentine’s day to ask you to further encourage our community - particularly local schools and businesses - to be more active and aware for Climate Justice. Especially following our COP26 pledges. Please advocate using not just my voice but also my heart for our community, and the UK, to do more about helping the world’s most vulnerable from climate chaos.
Thank you and kind regards,
<Your Name.
<your address>
(we love this idea and have already thought maybe this could work well for Climate Justice week later in the year!)
YOUR HEART MATTERS
