Slum Lunch is Served

Last Wednesday saw Empathy Action’s first full slum day experience run at Sevenoaks School for its Year 9 pupils.

The day included an extended version of ‘The Poverty Trap’ simulation, a presentation on charity work that Sevenoaks School is involved with, a ‘slum lunch’ eaten with fingers and a showing of the film, The Good Lie.

Whilst an exhausting day, the experience seemed to strike a chord, with one student commenting on twitter,

Just had an amazing day with @Empathy_Action, it was truly amazing. Honestly one of the best days of school I have ever experienced.

It was great to be invited back to Sevenoaks School and the next simulation there is already in the diary!
