Challenging perspectives
Due to the highly immersive and experiential nature of our work it doesn’t easily capture well for photos and videos.
Recently we were joined by seasoned film maker whilst delivering The Poverty Trap who managed to capture the school’s perspective that creating a “different classroom for the day” is important for teaching ‘empathy as a skill’.
Luke Goodman, acting head of Clifton High School shares about “challenging our children’s perspectives” with empathy. He says that:
“empathy is going to be one of the biggest skills required”.
Often when talking with groups we hear the hope that organisers want to “burst their bubbles” and they go on to share how prevalent presumptions and assumptions are dominant.
Listen to Luke share about this in the video beneath.
